The Music of Alexander Weiss

All Songs Written by Alex Weiss

© Third Season Productions 1992-2005

Basically, over the past 15 years or so I have collected a ton of recordings, mostly live, of my bands or groups of friends playing the songs I have written. You will hear a lot of different vocalists, once in a while you’ll hear me singing. My voice didn’t develop into a lead vocalist’s quality until the last few years or so.

Some of them are just live jams, others are complete songs. My newest music isn’t ready to be published so it will be a while before they are up. But when they are, they will be complete and yours truly will be doing all the lead vocals.

As of now, I am still playing with Jimmi and Will. All the other people have come and gone over the years. We are trying to decide if any of these songs have potential to be used on the album we are recording now. (a lot of bands keep a repertoire of older songs to draw from for new albums.) Keep in mind none of these songs is recorded with all the new crisp clean recording gear I have now, that’s all saved for the brand new songs, this is older stuff.

All songs are in mp3 format.

Live Jams:

Most of the Live recordings are just the PA board into a tape deck with a few room mics. Some of these songs exist in no other place then on these original live recordings.

The King Mp3

Feat. Alex (guitar) Jimmi (Guitar) and Will (drums), circa 1993 (at 4:30 am, after playing for about 12 hours straight)

Round and Around

Feat. Alex (guitar), Dave (vocs), Bob (keys), Andrew (drums)

This song was just something I had on the back burner and we started jamming through it and I threw a tape in the tape deck hooked up to the PA and hit record.

Complete Songs:

Beloved

Feat: Alex (guitars), Will (drums), Dave (guitar) and Heather on Vocals. Circa 1997

I found the only existing copy of the original recording of this song. This is, in fact, my favorite song I have written. You cannot get the sense of ambiance that this song embodies without hearing it live. The guitar is so enormous, it fills the entire room. Some day I hope to recapture this song with a band. You have to listen to every note, every little nuance in the solo’s and the rhythm section, to appreciate this. When this was recorded it was only the day after I wrote it.

The song itself, is about a person who is so busy in their life that they fail to look around them and notice all that God has given them in this life, and the life to come. They finally realize what they were missing in their journey through life.

Crushed

Feat: Alex and Kevin on Guitars, Alex and Jon on lead vocs, Jon on bass, And will on drums. Circa 1995 (I redid some of the vocals on 4/13/05)

Crushed can be summed up in the words *destroy me you, you own me.* There was a time in my life when I felt so miserable, so hopeless, so helpless, that I knew the only hope for me was to give God complete control over my life. There is a beauty in desperation. It acts as an incredible back drop for God’s mercy and love.

Incomplete Songs:

What I Want

Feat: Alex (guitar), Frank (guitar), Dan (drums), Raff (bass) circa 1997

OUCH! This is a song I REALLY get into playing live. I’m going to have to go back and put my vocals on this someday. It sounds good, but the vocals add so much. And listen to the growl of those Kitty Hawks (amps That’s $8000.00 Worth of guitar amps coming atcha, haha. This one has some funk to it. Too bad Frank’s guitar sound goes totally wacko in this one.

Space and Time

Feat: Alex (guitar), Frank (guitar), Dan (drums), Raff (bass) circa 1997

No vocs recorded on this one, If you can make it through it, it’s got some cool textures and rhythmic changes, Frank is on the right noodling away on lead through the whole thing… heh.

Moon

Feat. Alex (guitar), Heather (voc), Dave (guitar), Andrew (Drums), circa 1996

Not much to say, this was just an idea we never developed into anything.

---------------------------------------------------------

There’s a lot more to come, as I have a huge box full of 8 track reels and dat tapes to go through and find stuff, I have to remaster it and run it all through my equipment into the CPU. And there’s the 20 or so new songs that have never been recorded that I have been working on over the past few years, which I actually consider my best stuff as of yet.

Enjoy! – alex
